Welcome to Business Education and the Entrepreneurship Pathway. We will learn about technology in business, how to budget, marketing principles, communication strategies, technology in business, how to write a resume, leadership and management skills, and many more fun topics around business. Students who complete the pathway will receive a certification in general management along with a certification in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Unit 3: Word Basics and Technology

In this unit we will cover the basics on how to use Microsoft Word . We will understand how to save files to our computer, naming structure, creating folders, and using other tools, such as One Note, to create structure.

We will focus on business letter components and the importance of writing a letter to customers. We will create our own price increase letter using letterhead templates we developed previously within our “fake” business groups.

Unit 2: Getting Ready for the Workforce

In this unit we will learn about the internet being a community that is linked electronically. We will understand that internet safety should be taken seriously and how to best protect your personal information. We will view how web information management systems impact a company and the benefits of the system.

In addition to the above, we will talk about our digital footprint and how each of us individually impact the world with our digital traceable activities. When it comes to the workforce, how you present yourself matters. We will prepare our personal resumes and discuss apparel for our future careers we want to pursue. For some of you who are interested in business, we will discuss FBLA and how it relates to our classroom as well as outside the classroom.

My Educational Background

I graduated from Kennesaw State University with my Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and Information Systems. At Kennesaw’s Continuing Professional Education Center, I completed Event Management and Planning Certificate and a Social Media Certificate. I completed my Strategic Marketing Certificate from Cornell University. Lastly for education, I took my classes for my cosmetology license at Empire Beauty School. I have been a licensed professional for 10 years and still currently hold my GA Cosmetology license.
